You’ve come to the right place. We specialize in artistic outdoor lighting design and love transforming ordinary spaces into immersive outdoor experiences. To get started, simply fill out our form or call (828)777-4766 to schedule a complimentary design consultation with our lead designer.

Before your appointment, we’ll send you a few short videos to help you prepare. Depending on the size and complexity of your home, the consultation typically lasts between 1 and 3 hours. But first, let’s hop on a quick call to talk about your vision. We can’t wait to hear from you!

How do I find a good outdoor lighting company near me?

You’ve already found us! No, but seriously, choosing the right outdoor lighting company makes all the difference. Here’s what to look for:

  • Credentials and Education: Look for certifications in outdoor lighting design and installation. Ongoing training, awards, and education show a company’s commitment to excellence, not just basic service.
  • Artistic Portfolio: Review their work. A strong portfolio speaks volumes. Anyone can install fixtures; true professionals create stunning, balanced designs that elevate your space.
  • Focus on Lighting (Not Landscaping): Specialized lighting companies bring a higher level of skill and attention to detail. Their resources, expertise, and passion are fully dedicated to the art of illumination.
  • Reputation and Experience: Check their Google reviews, business page, and how long they’ve been in business. Consistent positive feedback and a solid track record are great indicators of quality.

The Carolina Outdoor Lighting team leads with expertise. We believe continued education leads to better results and more beautiful spaces for our clients.

Why do you install LED lights and how much more will my electric bill be?

LED (Light Emitting Diodes) are the only way to go. LED’s come in a variety of color temperatures (Kelvins) and the technology has come so far; the wattage can be minimal with a high lumens output. You will not see a change in your electric bill with low voltage LED systems.

Our general rule of thumb:

A 20 light system – each bulb is 5 watts:

Increase of $1.98 / Month

Increase of $23.76 / Year

Give us a call to get the formula we use to calculate electric bill increases.

How much does a landscape lighting system cost?

We offer packages to fit a wide range of budgets. Our systems typically start around $4,000, with most clients investing an average of $25,000. Whether you’re looking to light a simple pathway or illuminate an entire estate, we’re fully equipped to handle projects of all sizes.

No job is too small or too ambitious. Call us to schedule your complimentary consultation. We’ll review your space, discuss your goals, and provide a detailed quote during our first meeting.

Do you install solar lights and which ones do you recommend?

We do not install solar lights. While solar lights may seem eco-friendly, they often fall short in performance and longevity. They typically fail quickly, leading to more waste and frustration, not less.

Instead, we use low-voltage LED systems that are energy-efficient, built to last, and deliver far superior lighting effects, all without noticeably impacting your electric bill. It’s a smarter, more sustainable solution for your outdoor space.

What areas do you serve?

We proudly serve Asheville and surrounding areas, including Cashiers and Highlands, NC. Our team loves to travel–we’ve even completed projects as far as St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Whether your project is across the state, the country, or the globe, let’s talk!

Why should I choose a lighting company over a landscape company that offers lighting services?

Outdoor lighting is all we do, and we do it exceptionally well. Our full focus is on LED landscape lighting. Unlike companies juggling multiple services, we specialize solely in lighting design and installation. That means no distractions, just deep expertise. Our team regularly trains and stays current on the latest lighting technologies and products. We don’t use off-the-shelf materials from big-box stores like Lowe’s or Home Depot. Instead, we source high-performance, professional-grade components built for beauty and longevity. With a dedicated team and years of hands-on experience, we’re proud to be Asheville’s premier outdoor lighting company

What about Dark Skies? Do you install lights that are sky-conscious?

Yes, we’re highly conscious of Dark Sky principles. We’re happy to design with Dark Sky ordinances and HOA guidelines when applicable. Many of our installations include uplighting (when permitted), and we carefully select the appropriate Kelvin temperature, beam spread, and wattage to minimize light pollution and ensure compliance with Dark Sky standards. Some of our other thoughtful touches include offering programmable timers that let you turn off tree lights while keeping architectural lighting on longer so you can get the look you want without lifting a finger.

We have the answers to all of your outdoor lighting questions. Including
